El Chupacabra
Christian Slater makes his big screen come back in Hollow Man 2 and the best thing about it is we don't see his wang unlike the original Hollow Man with Kevin "Wang" Bacon.
In all honesty, this movie had somewhat decent special effects, but I can't really say if they were used any better then a hat and suit on some marionette strings. Christian Slater is on the rampage to find a special serum to prevent his invisibily and tissue from decaying. We don't see him very much because he's invisible so he's really just doing voice work. I'm not sure if he smokes, but his voice sounds a bit like my Aunt Bertha's and she smoked 2 packs a day for 40 years.
The movie lost me spatially. He's trying to find a female doctor who knows of the serum so he sneaks into a house across the way. inside are a couple teenagers making out and filimg it with a camera that has "nightvision". He manages to open the window to their bedroom, get past venetian blinds and crawl over the bend between them. We see him briefly flash across the cameras LCD screen. The things is, the doctor's house was across the street so I had trouble understanding the point of this scene. Invisibility doesn't work on nightvision?
The military is also after hollow man and they send in commandoes to stop him at the doctor's house. Unfortunately, only one commando has nightvision and he was the guy who needed his inhaler at boot camp. Hollow man has no problem evading the 30 soldiers and helicopters and the chase continues until it ends in a rain soaked finale between hollow man and some guy who I forgot mention until now.
What confuses me most about movies with invisible people is trying to understand the following:
- If you eat visible food at what point does it become invisible with the rest of your body? I would expect to see a clump of partially digested food in the shape of a stomach and intestine leading to a clump of poop in the shape of a colon floating in mid-air. This never seems to be the case.
- Would you not have to be exceptionally clean to remain invisivle? Everyday dust and dirt would make you become a fuzzy outline of a human. If you got grass stains on your knees or a juice mustache...
- Hollow man was naked in this movie (no wang as I said, thank god!), but are clothes a definite no-no? Does Puffy make a line of invisible track suits?
