DAS BOOT!
Beerfest probably shouldn't be on here, but we saw it, so we will review it.
If you liked Super Troopers and/or Club Dread, you'll love Beerfest. Its the same Broken Lizards sense of humour from the other two movies, but applied to drinking beer.
The premise is that two brothers go to Germany to spread their grandfather's ashes and get dragged into an underground beer drinking competition known as Beerfest. After getting humiliated by the German team, they decide to put together a drinking team of their own to win it the next year. After putting together their team made up of the other members of Broken Lizards, they prepare for a year in the back of their grandfather's restaurant drinking a beer with a secret stolen recipe.
Theres not much to say besides the fact that Beerfest is filled with crude humour and gratuitous nudity. If you enjoyed the Broken Lizards previous movies, go out and get this one.

Are you jerking off a frog?
This was a great movie if you are just starting to learn how to drink. It shows you what to do and what not to do, and it also pretty much sums up what every weekend should be like.(If you can afford that much beer) Also it shows that people that drink too much are cool. The german team had a freaking submarine! Don't mess with germany.

Germans look like men and talk like girls
Beerfest is a celebration of sophormoric humor and self-destructive behavior. At this it succeeds nicely. When a movie begins with a warning "if you drink this much beer, you will die", then you know you have a real winner. I'm not a big drinker, never was, but who wouldn't be entertained by watching a bunch of people acting like fools while they train for the annual world beer drinking championship held in Germany? And so, as a comedy, it also mostly succeeds, not as a sophisticated or subtle treatsie on man's human frailties, but rather a series of gags and spoofs that to us plebeians were just plain funny. No art house crap, no complicated or obscure cultural references, no malapropisms featuring latin, just Jay Chandrasekhar waking up naked and hungover, his mouth ringed with blood, next to a deer carcass. I found it funny, you might too.
This movie was also a tad smarter than you might think. By far my favorite part of the movie was when one of the team's members, Landfill, is killed. The writers introduce a new character, his brother Gil, who is in fact the same actor except for a cowboy hat. Gil exclaims that Landfill has told him so much about them that he feels he knows them already. In fact, he says, "we don't even need that getting to know you phase". And then he says "hell, just call me Landfill!" Too much! The writers are being lazy, except they know it and they're having fun with it.
Some reaons to see this movie:
- You love stereotypical portrayals of Germans as either slightly effeminate with high-pitched german accents or hugely muscular with lots of Lundgren-esque grunts.
- You liked Super Troopers or Club Dread.
- You are in a college fraternity and 80% of your time is taken up by drinking, drinking games, ping pong, or eating your weight in hot dogs.
You might want to avoid this movie if:
- You're a damn, dirty teetotaler.
- Juvenille humor went out of style when you turned seven.
- You're a German with an unnaturally high voice.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A LIVER I CAN HAVE?
THIS IS NOT A B-MOVIE. WE NEEDED A WEEK OFF FROM THE HORRIBLE CRAP THAT SOME PEOPLE TRY TO MAKE AND HOPE THEY WILL SUCCEED BUT NEVER DO. THIS MOVIE WAS JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED. FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS MOVIES. IT STARTED OFF GREAT AND FINISHED GREAT. THAT IS HOW A MOVIE IS SUPPOSED TO BE. ALL IT WAS MISSING WAS MR.T OR CHUCK NORRIS. I LIKE THE OCCASIONAL BEER BUT TO TRAIN AND BECOME A FULL TIME ALCOHOLIC IS NOT MY CUP OF TEA. BUT I AM NOT GERMAN. IF YOU LIKE A HILARIOUS MOVIE, THIS IS IT. IF YOU LIKE A MOVIE ABOUT THE UNDERDOGS BEATING THE ODDS, THIS IS IT. IF YOU LIKE A MOVIE WITH A PLOT ABOUT GETTING DRUNK, THIS IS IT. AND IF YOU WANT TO SEE LOTS OF TITTIES, THIS IS IT TOO. THIS IS GOOD FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT. SO GOOD IN FACT I AM GOING TO CONCUR WITH MYSELF. THIS IS GOOD FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT.| Charles Bronson's Ratings | |

Deceptive Cover
This movie contains the pictured actors, they did hold and drink beer, and there were scantily clad females, although less than the size of the cleavage relative to the main actors would imply.Deception level (Between 0 and 10)
