Vladimir Putin recently hosted a martial arts tournament in St. Petersberg. The televised event featuring scores of martial artists was held at Konstantinovsky palace. In attendance was none other than Jean Claude Van Damme. Putin is said to have giggled like a Japanese schoolgirl when JCVD did the splits between two barrels.

Sounds to me like Putin, or should I say Shang Tsung, is planning to conquer the Earth Realm once again. Somebody give Liu Kang a call.
